Being a remote student means just that. Learning from home.

The difference that goes unacknowledged is that students have been learning from home their whole lives with Youtube, Google, etc.

Students are actually a lot more used to learning from home than educators realize.

The problem with remote learning is that the education industry hasn’t adapted.

Institutions are looking at Harvard and Yale as their competition when, in reality, their competition is David Dobrik and MrBeast’s Youtube videos.

Since more education is done via a computer with remote learning, it doesn’t take much for students to click minimize and jump into their favorite Youtube creator or Twitch streamer.

Attention is what educators need to focus on.
